Want To Start Working Out But Feel Overwhelmed Or Intimidated?

Do you want to start working out but feel overwhelmed and maybe even a little intimidated? Coming from a personal trainer, we always have to remind people that it’s all about baby steps and self-care. A simple plan of action will get you a lot closer to your fitness goals.

Taking the first step is the hardest part, and to succeed, having a plan is crucial. But rather than having a plan of do’s or don’ts, make a plan with a positive mindset.

One of the most common things that we hear as a personal trainer is that finding the time to work out can be challenging. However, finding the time isn't the problem because the time is already there. You just need to re-prioritize what you spend your time doing.

When you sit down to plan out your week, have a couple of the 10, 15, and 20-minute workout sessions that your personal trainer set up for you ready. Choose one for each day and schedule it. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself and focus on the fact that you’re doing the workouts, not what you're doing in the workout. Always celebrate the small wins. A sense of accomplishment is the best motivation to keep pushing forward and staying the course.

After a few weeks, this will help boost motivation and create consistency, which will turn into great fitness results. And you will soon see that you can find more and more time to get a workout in than you originally thought.

The key when you're first starting out is to make sure that you give yourself options. When you see that you have some extra time, pick one of the workouts your personal trainer created for you and get after it. Health and fitness is part of self-care - fit it into your lifestyle.

Once you get into the habit of completing these mini sessions, try setting up at least one weekly personal training session at SRQ Health & Fitness. You will soon notice that more and more time opens up and you’ll be able to come in for multiple training sessions each week. We look forward to seeing you soon and helping you meet your fitness goals.
