I Want To Lose Fat And Gain Muscle

Wanting to lose fat while gaining muscle is a common goal for many people, but some would argue that it can’t be done. Luckily, it is actually possible to lose fat while gaining muscle when you have a corresponding diet and workout plan. This is where working with a personal trainer is crucial to the success of achieving your goal.

Before meeting with your personal trainer, start by asking yourself these important questions:

  • What are your long-term goals?

  • Do you want to have the energy to chase your kids or grandkids around the yard?

  • Do you want to have a more lean and toned appearance?

Spending hours doing cardio will definitely help you burn calories, but it will not help you build muscle or get that “toned” look. Prioritizing strength training while incorporating cardio is where you need to be to see results. As your personal trainer, we would recommend a simple strength-based fitness program.

Working out is important for gaining muscle, but as your personal trainer, we are here to tell you that the real fat loss happens primarily in the kitchen. Having a good understanding of the nutrition your body needs to fuel your body for fat loss and muscle gain is crucial to your success.

SRQ Health and Fitness can not only create a workout plan that will get you the results you're after, we can also guide you in the kitchen.

When you’re losing fat and gaining muscle simultaneously, remember that these two things do not happen at the same rate.

You will see the numbers on the scale drop some weeks, and other weeks you will see the numbers spike. We don’t recommend stepping on the scale because of this reason. It can be very discouraging when you have been working so hard, and the numbers on the scale are higher than last week.

As your personal trainer, we like to focus more on how you feel and how your clothes fit than what the numbers say. Most of our clients on this type of journey will start to notice that their pants are looser, that they are stronger, are sleeping better at night, have more energy, or even have an overall feeling of increased health. Focus on these results instead of the scale.

Losing fat while building lean muscle is possible, and with the help of a personal trainer, you can achieve your goals. So do you want to lose fat and gain muscle? You definitely can but it is completely up to you; with the right mindset and the right personal trainer, you can achieve your goals faster than you would think. Set up an initial consult today!
